Battle of Bosworth Field (1485)
The Battle of Bosworth Field is traditionally considered the final battle of the Wars of the Roses. Henry Tudor, the last descendant of the Lancastrian House through his mother Lady Margaret Beaufort was greatly outnumbered but he won the Battle of Bosworth Field on August 22, 1485 thanks to desertion or switching sides of Richard’s key allies. Yorkist King Richard III was killed in the battle. Henry ascended to the English throne as Henry VII and founded the Tudor Dynasty which ruled England for 118 years.
