The Battle of Mohi took place only two days after the Battle of Legnica on April 11, 1241. The Mongols decisively defeated the Hungarian army under the command of King Bela IV and the Kingdom of Hungary was on the knees. However, the Mongols withdrew when the news of the death of Ogedei Khan reached Europe because their commander Batu Khan wanted to participate in the election of the great khan.
