Battle of Tours by
Charles de Steuben

The Battle of Tours was fought somewhere between Tours and Poitiers between the Spanish Muslims and the Franks led by Charles Martel, the Austrasian mayor of the palace and the illegitimate son of Pepin II in 732. The Franks decisively defeated the Moorish forces and ended the Muslim conquests in Western Europe, while Charles Martel used his victory to consolidate his power in the Frankish Kingdom.
