John Falstaff is a fat, vainglorious and cowardly knight created by William Shakespeare. John Falstaff appears in three Shakespeare’s plays as a companion of Prince Hal and future King Henry V, while some scholars believe he was perhaps based on a real person. Most often is mentioned John Oldcastle although there were probably many knights resembling Shakespeare’s character Falstaff.
