Siege of Jerusalem
The Siege of Jerusalem took place during the First Crusade from June 7 to July 15, 1099, when the Crusaders managed to break down sections of the walls and entered the city. The Crusaders massacred nearly all of its inhabitants including women and children as well as Jews and Orthodox Christians. Capture of Jerusalem by the Crusaders marked the end of the First Crusade and resulted in the establishment of the Crusader states in the Middle East.
